Killing Customers at Home Depot
I am going to stop by Home Depot in Orem after work. This reminded me of the last time I stopped by this store. I was standing in line at the checkout and the security alarm went off as a customer tried to exit. At the same instant a new checker coming on shift, who couldn't find her price reading scanner gun, yelled out to the supervisor, "I can't find my gun!"
The customer standing in line in front of me said, "Gee Whiz, (this is what they say in Utah County), What is she going to do shoot him?"

Exploring Utah County
I took a different way home last night, winding through the neighborhoods. It was interesting to soak in the Utah County atmosphere. Old houses and new mansions. new businesses and gardens. Horses, mini farms, kids on skateboards, red necks in pickup trucks, young mothers jogging while pushing a 3 wheeled strollers. Lots of blondes. No Blacks. Some Hispanics and polynesians.

Mark's Birthday
Went to Mark and Christine's Sunday for Mark's 38th birthday dinner. Mark cut Matt's hair and the boys went shooting Mark's air pistols. I got some cute pictures. Christine made a delicious shrimp pasta dish and some wonderful ice cream pies. Desi kept chanting "I scream for ice cream."
On the way home we took the short cut. I pulled over because I wanted to let the impatient driver behind me pass. I didn't realize that there were two cars behind him. (My mirror was turned down because of headlight glare) I went to turn out of the turn out and Matt yelled, "Dad! Car!" I just missed turning out into two impatient, speeding Eagle Mountainites. No harm no foul.

Matt's Car Scare
Friday August 27 - Having trouble saving new additions to this blog.
When Matt took his car in to get it fixed he was told that the engine was ruined and that the car should be totaled but to call back. When he called back they said it was ready and there had been a mistake.
Went to "Famous Dave's" for ribs. Our little friend/manager, Claudia, came over and talked to us.

Tuesday August 17 - I went to the movie "Saints and Soldiers" at the Thanksgiving Point theaters. It was interesting. The Mormon guy dies.
Wednesday August 18 - I took a personality test today at work. My manager Dan gave it to me. I found out that I have an "Expressive" personality. The link to take the test is Http://www.bender.ca After work I drove West of Pleasant Grove down to Utah Lake and the Pleasant Grove boat habor. There were some neat homes in a farmland-like setting with lots of trees. I liked it a lot.
Thursday August 19 - I drove to Utah Lake behind Geneva. I was surprised how high the lake level is in this draught year. There was a nice sand beach. I think I will post my poem about Utah lake in the poetry section. There was a dead raccoon on the side of the road as I drove out of the area. I was tempted to pick it up and put it in Dave's raccoon trap but I didn't.
Friday August 20 - Some lady cut me off on the freeway this morning and threw a rock into my windshield as she cut in. I noticed a star ding when I was driving home. Our insurance agent fired his secretary, Barbara,who is Marilynn's good friend. Now we have no one to call for questions on coverage. I found pictures of Dave on a website owned by Dave's work associate and sent copies to Mom.
Saturday August 21 - I saw Jay Birks in the service station. When he got out of his car to talk to me his miniture poodle climbed out of his car window and walked along the fender to the back deck of the Thunderbird where he stood looking like he was checking out the world. Later when Jay drove off the dog was sitting in his lap. The poodle and Jay both having white curly hair. Don't they say people look like their dogs.I love driving 65 MPH in the slow lane which makes people mad who try to use it as a speeding and passing lane. I saw a billboard with a cow on it which was advertizing the state fair and said "Over 100 Atkins friendly exhibits."
Monday August 23 - I got my cast changed today. My foot is healing very well.I stopped by Walmart and Marilynn I went to dinner at Blimpies.
Tuesday August 24 - I got a hole in the pocket of my pants and discovered that all the coins I had in my pocket were gone. Later that night when I took off my shoe I discovered that my money had fallen down my pant leg and into my shoe. The network at work was down all day. I got very upset.
Wednesday August 25 - Went to the movie "Bourne Supremacy". Two hours of tight closeups of Matt Damon running. The network is back up. Nice.
